Being Authentic – True to yourself
Most important for us to understand, is that there is an intrinsic nature and behaviour which
we are born with. Can I that change that? Or let’s re-phrase Should I change in order to fit
into the community? – the answer is ‘NO’.
“If I am not a people’s person I will not be comfortable in crowds”.
“If my idea of fun is reading a book, then you will not find me at the pub”
“If I am an outdoor person then you will not find me at home or in a workplace which is a
desk job.”
Attention recruiters! Is aptitude test, one of the parameters for recruitment? As the old
adage says “you can’t make a fish climb a tree”. Applicable even for the recruitment drive
for Leadership roles and top management roles.
I will leave that for you to think and comment.
Coming back to the topic of authenticity, in training during soft skills we stress upon the fact
that you should retain your authenticity. The training programs are not designed to change
your basic persona, however in soft skills training you are made to cultivate habits and
attitude which will help you in your growth path. We help you build confidence. The choice
to change and inculcate habits which are transformational in nature, which will hold you in
good stead in the long run.
You may be an introvert but you still will work in an environment that will require people
skills. You might be nervous to take stage but you still will require to make that winning
presentation. You will work with young and old alike, you will require interpersonal skills to
make your presence felt.
Why is soft skills training essential? To fuel you with ‘POWER’, to be that strong & confident
individual. Your environment, your gender, your lineage, your education, your experiences,
your belief systems all add up to what makes you tick today. Soft Skill development will take
you notches up escalating you to higher self-esteem, a winning attitude and a progressive
growth.
Skill training EMPOWERS you to perform better.
